September 22, 2022 - Fall Registratation Help and FAQs Answered for SWIMS 3.0
WELCOME TO THE NEW SWIMS 3.0
Hello Pacific Swimming member families! We are two weeks into the new SWIMS 3.0 and Online Member Registration process and what a two weeks it has been! Hopefully, by this time, if you need to register an athlete for fall swimming, you have been instructed by your club on the process and been given a registration link by your club. If you haven’t, then the information below may be helpful. If you get stuck in any of these processes, please be sure to reach out to us at the LSC by emailing laurie@pacswim.org or info@pacswim.org so we can assist you – support at USA Swimming is inundated with lots of support tickets and many issues can be resolved at the LSC level.
ALL NEW REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR THE 2022-2023 SWIM YEAR Hopefully this isn’t the first time you’ve been told that registration for USA Swimming is changing to an online only registration format. This has been in the works for almost two years and it’s now live – while the transition might be rocky, this will ultimately be a much better solution for everyone. Yay technology, however…
THIS MEANS THERE’S NO MORE ON-DECK REGISTRATION We cannot emphasize enough that if you have entered a meet this weekend or will enter a meet in the future, YOU NEED TO BE REGISTERED WITH USA SWIMMING PRIOR TO THE START OF THE MEET! THERE IS NO ON-DECK REGISTRATION AT SWIM MEETS, NO PAPER FORMS AND NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
What’s the next step if my athlete isn’t registered?
PARENTS, MAKE YOUR NEW USA SWIMMING ACCOUNT FIRST The first step you must take is to make a parent account. You do that by going to https://hub.usaswimming.org/landing and choose CREATE A LOGIN to make your parent account. You can find step-by-step instructions here. Once you have made your new account, you can use a REGISTRATION LINK PROVIDED BY YOUR CLUB to register your swimmers for an initial membership or to renew their membership (most clubs are not requiring renewal at this time but expect that to happen later this fall).
WHAT IF I AM A PARENT BUT ALSO A MEMBER, LIKE AN OFFICIAL, COACH OR MEET DIRECTOR? If you are also a member, you will follow the same steps as if you were going to make a parent account, except you will link your personal member ID to your account prior to linking your child’s account, step-by step instructions can be found here. Once you have linked your membership to your USA Swimming Member ID, you can then add your family members like your athletes or spouse. You will need your swimmer’s NEW USAS member ID to add them to your account. Athletes 16 and older can make their own accounts and it’s important for athletes that are approaching 18 to have their own member account so they can take their APT prior to the 18th birthday.
WHAT IF I MADE AN ACCOUNT AND IT JUST SAYS MEMBER, BUT I AM A COACH, OFFICIAL, OR OTHER NON-ATHLETE? If you started the process and got stuck with an account that just says Member and doesn’t reflect your membership information (like coach, official, etc), it needs to be deleted and re-created so you can link it to the correct Member ID. Email info@pacswim.org and we can help you resolve that issue.
I AM A CLUB COACH, ADMINSTRATOR, REGISTRAR AND I HAVE QUESTIONS THAT HAVEN’T FOUND AN ANSWER TO YET, WHAT SHOULD I DO? Please reach out to Laurie Benton at laurie@pacswim.org to get assistance or write to info@pacswim.org and we will help you.
WHERE DO I SEND MY CERTIFICATIONS TO BE UPDATED? Please continue to send those to laurie@pacswim.org. She can also double check any concerns you have about your membership requirements.
