November 2, 2020 - Longtime Pacific Swimming Official and Volunteer Rick Beebe Has Passed
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of longtime Pacific Swimming official and volunteer, Rick Beebe. Rick was very active in Zone 1 North for many years, including the Zone 1N Chair from 1990-1994. He lived in San Mateo prior to moving to Santa Rosa.
Rick also managed the Pacific Swimming website and kept track of the Pacific Swimming's Time Recognition and Records for many years. He was a board member and was honored as Pacific Swimming's Volunteer of the Year in 2001. Rick even once officiated a world record by Michael Phelps. Rick's work with Pacific Swimming meant a lot to him and we are grateful for his many years of dedication to the organization!
In addition to his work with Pacific Swimming, Rick was an active choral member and avid backpacker, known on the trails as "Snowbird".
Due to public health concerns, no in-person memorial service is planned. Friends may contact the family for information about an online celebration. Memorial contributions may be made to the Yosemite Conservancy (101 Montgomery Street, Suite 1700, San Francisco, CA 94104).
