November 11, 2024 - Congratulations to our 2024 Nevada State Short-course Champions! Women: Hannah Ingram (CARS, 13-14 two events), Mila Rabinowitz (LAKE, 13-14 six events), Addison Sala (LAKE, 15-18 five events), Liliana Quevedo (LAKE, 15-18 200 breast), Shayne Patrick (LAKE, 15-18 two events). Men: Drew Halterman (RENO, 9-10 six events), Isaac Mannering (LAKE, 11-12 two events), Pasha Varganov (NNA, 13-14 100 free), Colin Wickwire (LAKE, 13-14 500 free), Tristan Luke (LAKE, 13-14 100 back), Zach Power (LAKE, 15-18 two events), Lakeridge A (11-18 200 Medley Relay).

October 12, 2024 - Congratulations Pacific Swimming awardees from Zone 4! Athlete Representative Bella Pflieger was voted by her peers as Zone Athlete Representative of the Year. Kelly Schott was announced as the Pacific Swimming Volunteer of the Year based on votes during the May HOD. And Arianne Sorreta was chosen as Official of the Year for Zone 4. Thank you to these outstanding volunteers for their service to the athletes of Zone 4 and Pacific Swimming!

July 30, 2024 - Congratulations to Luke Hobson (LAKE) on becoming our first ever Olympic swimming medalist from Zone 4 and northern Nevada! Luke took Bronze in a closely contested medal race (top three within 0.07 seconds!) in the 200m Freestyle at the 2024 Paris games with a personal best time of 1:44.79. He also led off the 4x200m Freestyle Relay, earning a silver medal with his teammates.

June 17, 2024 - Congratulations to Luke Hobson for becoming the first Olympic swimmer from Zone 4 and northern Nevada! An alumnus of Lakeridge Swim Team and Reno High School, and currently swimming with the Texas Longhorns, Luke won Olympic Team Trials in the 200m freestyle (1:44.89) today to secure individual and relay spots on the U.S. Olympic team headed to Paris next month. May 5, 2024 - Congratulations to Z4/LAKE alumnus Luke Hobson for his record-breaking National Champion 200y freestyle swims at the NCAA Division 1 Men's Championships March 27-30 in Indianapolis. Luke set new American and U.S. Open records twice during the meet, first leading off the 4x200 free relay in 1:29.13, then again two days later winning the individual event in 1:28.81. The day between those two swims, Luke also took second in the 500y freestyle with a new personal best of 4:06.93. Earlier in the season, Luke took bronze in the 200m freestyle at the Doha World Championships in February.

November 1, 2023 - Congratulations to Darian Koler (LAKE), Zach Power (LAKE), and Katy Zboinski (LAKE) on their selection to the 2022-2023 USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team! These student-athletes had to carry a 3.5 GPA during the school year, plus swim at least one event with a Winter Jr. National cut or faster.

September 1, 2023 - Zone 4/LAKE alumnus Luke Hobson shone once again on the world stage at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, July 22-29, 2023. In the 200m freestyle, Luke qualified 1st in the heats, ranked 2nd in the semifinals with a new personal best (and 4th All-Time Top U.S. Performer) of 1:44.87, and took 5th in finals the next day. Luke also led off the men's 4x200m freestyle relay to a 2nd place finish behind surprise winner Great Britain.

July 6, 2023 - Congratulations to Zone 4/LAKE alumnus Luke Hobson for defending his 200m freestyle national title for a second year at the Phillips 66 National Championships June 27-July 1 in Indianapolis. His personal-best 1:45.12 punched his ticket to Fukuoka, Japan, for World Championships at the end of the month, along with other upcoming international competition. Luke also placed 6th in 400m freestyle and 16th in 100m freestyle, also with personal best times that added to his slate of 2024 Olympic Trials events.

May 7, 2023 - Congratulations to Zone 4/LAKE alumnus Luke Hobson for his national champion performances at the NCAA Division 1 Men's Championships March 22-25 in Minneapolis. Luke won the 500 Freestyle with a pool record of 4:07.37, also won the 200 Freestyle, and led off the winning 4x200 Freestyle Relay.

December 17, 2022 - Congratulations to Darian Koler (LAKE) and Zach Power (LAKE) who competed in multiple events at the 2022 Winter Junior National Championships West, December 7-10 in Austin, TX. Darian finished 32nd in 200y backstroke with a personal best of 1:59.72, and also competed in 100y backstroke and 200y IM. Zach swam personal best times in all of his events, including 500y freestyle, 200y IM, 100y butterfly, and a 41st finish in 200y butterfly at 1:50.02.  Well done Darian and Zach!

October 17, 2022 - Congratulations to Emma Karam (RENO), Darian Koler (LAKE), Aidan Pflieger (RENO), Alexander Power (LAKE), and Zachary Power (LAKE) on their selection to the 2021-2022 USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team.

September 3, 2022 - Congratulations to Emma Karam (RENO) on her recognition by Pacific Swimming as the outstanding short-course swimmer of the year for age 17.

August 25, 2022 - Congratulations to LAKE alumnus Luke Hobson, who has been tearing up pools around the world this summer. Luke took the National Champion title in the 200m freestyle with a time of 1:46.14 at the Phillips 66 National Championships in Irvine, CA, July 26-30.  Following that he led a 1-2-3 U.S. finish in the 200m freestyle at the August 19-21 Duel in the Pool in Sydney, Australia, with another personal best of 1:45.59.  Well done Luke!

April 11, 2022 - Congratulations to Aidan Pflieger (RENO) who became the 18-under 5k Open Water National Champion in Ft. Myers, FL, April 1-3, where he also competed in the 10k race. Click here for photos and more details.  Way to represent, Aidan!

January 5, 2022 - Congratulations to Luke Hobson (LAKE) for setting a new 17-18 National Age Group Record of 4:09.72 in the 500 Freestyle in December as a freshman at the University of Texas. Luke's time shattered the old record of 4:12.33 set by Michael Phelps back in 2004, and made him the youngest person in USA Swimming history to break 4:10 in the 500 free!

November 6, 2021 - Congratulations to Luke Hobson (LAKE) on making the National Junior Team, qualifying in both the 200 and 400 Freestyle!

November 1, 2021 - Congratulations to Katelyn Buono (RENO), Luke Hobson (LAKE), Emma Karam (RENO), Darian Koler (LAKE), and Alexander Power (LAKE) on their selection to the 2020-2021 USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team.

May 16, 2021 - Congratulations to Aidan Pflieger (RENO) who finished 16th in the 17-18 7.5k event at USA Swimming Junior National Open Water Championships in Fort Myers, FL, on April 18, as the only Pacific athlete in the event.

May 9, 2021 - Congratulations to Luke Hobson (LAKE) for his new Olympic Trials qualifying swims at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup in Des Moines last weekend. His 1:49.44 in 200m freestyle qualified for Wave II, and 50.24 in 100m freestyle and 23.06 in 50m freestyle both qualified for Wave I.  Luke had also previously qualified for Wave I in 400m freestyle (3:56.08) in the March Sectional time trials in St. George.

May 9, 2021 - Congratulations to Emma Karam (RENO) for her new Olympic Trials Wave II qualifying time of 2:12.43 in 200m backstroke at the Mission Viejo TYR Pro meet in early April.  At the same meet Emma also improved her previous Wave I qualifying time in 100m backstroke (1:01.78).

May 9, 2021 - Congratulations to Donna DePolo (UNEV) who qualified for Olympic Trials Wave I in 100m breaststroke, swimming 1:09.74 at an April Sectional time trial.

May 9, 2021 - Congratulations to Emma Karam (RENO) for her 100y backstroke performance at the March Sectional meet in St. George.  Her time of 52.19 ties her with two others for 22nd all-time fastest 15-16 women in 100y backstroke, and beat the best 15-16 times for past 100 backstroke champions like Missy Franklin (52.30) and Natalie Coughlin (52.55).

November 24, 2020 - Congratulations to Emma Karam (RENO) and Luke Hobson (LAKE) for their performances during the 2020 Toyota US Open Championships November 12-14 at the Irvine, CA venue.  Emma competed in 4 events, including a national 12th place finish and new Olympic Trials cut of 2:14.25 in 200m backstroke.  Luke competed in 7 events, including a 23rd place finish of 3:57.83 in 400m freestyle, less than 1 second off the Trials cut.

December 15, 2019 - Congratulations to Lakeridge athletes Luke Hobson, Maddy Lewis, and Emma Schott for their qualification and competition at the USA Swimming Junior Nationals West meet in Federal Way, Washington, December 11-14, which included top-8 finishes for Luke in the 500y and 200y free.

August 15, 2019 - Congratulations to Zone 4 athletes Emma Karam (RENO), Donna DePolo (UNEV/RENO), and Zone 4 graduate Shelby Koontz (Indiana University/DDST) for achieving Olympic Trials qualifying times during this past season.

November 24, 2018 - Congratulations to Aidan Pflieger (RENO) for being one of 24 athletes selected by Pacific Swimming to attend the Distance Camp at the Olympic Training Center in late January.

August 30, 2018 - Congratulations to Luke Hobson (LAKE) for being selected as one of five finalists for the 2017-2018 Pacific Swimming Age Group Male Race of the Year award (1:40.86, 200y freestyle).  Vote here for all your favorite award finalists by 7 PM Wednesday Sept. 12, 2018.

August 24, 2018 - Congratulations Luke Hobson (LAKE) on being selected as Pacific Swimming Outstanding Swimmers of the Year in his age category.

August 1, 2018 - Congratulations to Zone 4 graduates Shelby Koontz (DDST/Indiana University) and McKenna Meyer (RENO/San Diego State) who competed strongly at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships in Irvine CA July 25-29.  Shelby recorded 19th place finishes in the 100m butterfly (59.50) and 50m butterfly (27.19).  McKenna ranked 40th in the 400m IM (4:53.79).

July 11, 2018 - Congratulations to Aidan Pflieger (RENO) and Emma Schott (LAKE) who were selected to the 2018 Pacific Swimming Western Zone All-star Team, competing in Roseville, CA, August 8-11.

Nov. 1, 2017 - Congratulations to Katie Crom (LAKE) for winning the 2017 Pacific Swimming age-group female Race of the Year award, for her performance in the 200m Butterfly (2:15.64) Aug. 1 at the Western Zone Senior Champs in Clovis, CA.  The award was presented at the October 7th Pacific Swimming Awards Banquet in Concord, CA.

Aug. 10, 2017 - Congratulations to Zone 4 graduates Shelby Koontz (DDST/Indiana University) and Rachel Matsumura (LAKE/Indiana University) for their performances at the 2017 US Open Championships in New York August 2-6.  Shelby competed in 4 events, including a 10th place finish in the 100m butterfly (59.90).  Rachel competed in 4 events and placed 15th in 200m backstroke (2:13.78).

July 13, 2016 - Congratulations to Zone 4 athletes Donna DePolo (RENO - 100m Br) and McKenna Meyer (RENO - 400m IM) for qualifying and competing at the USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, NE, June 27 - July 3.
